Who we are looking for
The Athia Foundation is seeking a voluntary Marketing and Communications Coordinator to take part at the grassroots level and to help develop and implement marketing, fundraising, and communication strategies across multiple platforms to build awareness of the Athia Foundation and our work.
Having a hands-on approach will be critical in supporting the Foundation’s work achieving real impact in the lives of our beneficiaries and making significant contributions to reducing poverty and disadvantage by facilitating pathways into further education, training, and employment for women and children in Ghana.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Athia Foundation operates in an ethically, environmentally, and socially responsible way.
- Promote the Athia Foundation in the community as opportunities arise.
- As the Marketing Coordinator, working with the Executive Director, you will help develop a marketing strategy and provide support with coordinating and implementing our Marketing and fundraising campaigns
- You will help to set up and oversee the organisation’s email campaigns
- Provide support in writing copy and sourcing data and information to be used in campaigns
- You will manage and lead the design and production of promotional materials such as newsletters, brochures, and communications to sponsors and donors
- Support to update and maintain the Athia Foundation’s digital platforms
- Perform other related duties from time to time, as agreed to with the board
Selection Criteria
- Supports the Athia Foundation’s mission and believes in our values and vision
- Has previous experience in direct and digital marketing in a role with income-generating responsibility, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
- Is proficient in using different types of CRM, software, and website platforms
- Skills with digital communication and design software
- Able to provide guidance and support in all aspects of communications, marketing, and brand-building
- You love marketing, creating change, and driving an impact through your work
- strong communication skills – verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- A self-starter who can work autonomously and be an effective part of a small team
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
- Knowledge, experience, and/or understanding of the not-for-profit and charity sectors (Desirable)
- Have qualifications in or are currently studying Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (Required)
All volunteers must have, or be willing to obtain, the following:
- A Volunteer Working with Children’s Check (current and valid)
- Current Police Check (within 6 months)
- International Police Check (if applicable)
- Evidence of right to work in Australia (Birth Certificate, Citizenship, Permanent Residency or Visa)
- Sign a volunteer agreement and confidentiality agreement
