We believe the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron is Australia’s premier yacht club. We are a private members’ club, proud of our history and excited about a vibrant, dynamic future. Situated along Sydney’s picturesque foreshore in Kirribilli, near Milsons Point train station, we are seeking a skilled Marketing Communications professional to manage the Squadron’s image and activities across all communication platforms.
About the role
This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing and member communications within the Squadron. Reporting to the CEO and collaborating closely with our Department Heads, this position plays a crucial role in shaping member engagement, enhancing service utilisation, and driving revenue growth.
Central to the role will be managing the digital and hard-copy media distributed to our members and the wider sailing community, brand management, sponsorship/partnership development, promotion of club activities and amenities, and articulation of the Squadron's mission and values.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with Squadron departments and committees to develop tailored marketing and communication strategies
- Execute plans across various communication channels in alignment with the Squadron's image, values, and mission
- Strategically manage marketing platforms and channels, ensuring cohesive messaging and branding.
- Track and report on campaign activities, ensuring targets and budget guidelines are met
- Oversee content creation and management for regular publications
- Lead project management efforts and communicate with members regarding the implementation of new website, app, and club-wide software
- Identify and pursue sponsorship/partnership opportunities to drive revenue growth
- Provide direction to external suppliers including graphic designers, printers, website and app technical support, journalists, photographers, videographers, etc.
- Develop and implement processes to streamline workflows and enhance communication output.
About you
You are a skilled Marketing Communications Manager with a proven track record of managing prestigious brands. You possess the acumen to engage a diverse membership base in a positive and compelling manner. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you excel at managing multiple deadlines independently. As a natural leader, you adeptly engage and influence various stakeholders. Your exceptional IT proficiency extends across a range of communication platforms, and you quickly adapt to new software. You exhibit outstanding presentation and communication skills. Embracing inclusivity, equality, and kindness, you embody a positive outlook on life. Your experience in Sailing and/or Hospitality will set you apart for this role.
