About the roleWe are seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to join our team as the Mayor’s Charity Event Coordinator. This role will play a crucial part in the coordination and execution of the City’s biannual Mayor’s Charity Dinner, a significant event aimed at raising funds for worthy causes within our community.In this role, you will undertake duties such as:Coordinate all aspects of the event logistics, ensuring seamless execution from planning to post-event activities.Support the Project Chari in the management of project meetings, setting of agendas, and delegating tasks effectively.Work collaboratively to ensure the delivery of a high-quality charity dinner within scope, budget, and schedule.Oversee project staff, volunteers, contractors, and suppliers, providing clear direction and support throughout the planning and execution phases.Fostering strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met.Coordinate and negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.Skills & ExperienceExperience in event management and deliveryHistory of delivering large-scale events on time and within budgetExcellent project management and people management skillsHighly developed stakeholder management capabilityAbility to deliver marketing content in written and visual formatsBenefits6-month contract from April 2024 – September 2024Part-time flexible hours 3 days per week initially, with a ramp up to full-time hours for the final 6 weeks.Free Gym Membership to both Leisure Centres!Access to exceptional employee benefits$90,264.87 - $96,065.01 per annum pro rata + superImpact the Community in a Big WayThe City of Canning aims to be a welcoming and thriving city, giving our people an opportunity to thrive through work that truly makes a difference!
