About the role
An opportunity for a suitably experienced Transport Coordinator to join our Maitland Community Care Services (MCCS) team has come up on a 12-month contract until 30 June 2025. The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm.
This position reports directly to the MCCS Manager. It is responsible for ensuring MCCS delivers safe and comfortable door-to-door transport services to the aged, frail, those who live with disability, and those who are transport disadvantaged in the Maitland and broader Hunter area.
This will be a rewarding opportunity for a motivated, committed individual who wants to build and maintain an effective Transport profile at MCCS.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Managing MCCS’s transport fleet and developing the transport service/program of MCCS;
- Liaise with the Customer Service office, rostering/scheduling, to deliver efficient and well-coordinated transport service to MCCS programs;
- Take client bookings and schedule transport trips
- Provide leadership, training and support to the Fleet Maintenance Officer, MCCS bus and car drivers (paid and voluntary) and relevant staff;
- Upkeep fleet management software, Accreditation Manager, including maintaining accurate data on the fleet register, driver register, safety policies, risk management policies, driver training, and maintenance register;
- Monitor for and report any damage, defect or repairs needed to the vehicles;
- Attend regional transport forums/transport industry networking events; and
- Plan and deliver regular meetings for drivers, Bus Assistants and other relevant transport safety workers.
About you
To be successful for this role, you must have demonstrated experience in successful fleet management and coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs
As well as:
- Demonstrated experience in scheduling transport services and coordinating staff and volunteers;
- Previous experience working with older people and people living with disability and knowledge of Consumer Directed Care, NDIS and Home Care Guidelines;
- Experience with various client management/booking/quality systems such as Route Match, TRACCS, Accreditation Manager;
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and service growth;
- Are well-organised, with sound attention to detail and commitment to accuracy;
- Strong work ethic, integrity and stakeholder focus;
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining high levels of quality and confidentiality; and
- Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccinations (primary vaccination course, plus one booster).
