Daily tasks and responsibilities: Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service.
Inspects and reassembles equipment sanitised previous night. Reworks display case to assess daily production needs and rotates product.
Brings cases of meat, up to 36kgs, from cooler and empties contents onto meat cutting or other preparation area.
Cuts and trims meat to Costco specification using band saw and knives. Operates tenderising machine. Follows safety and security procedures.
Operates meat mincer. Dumps meat into top of machine and checks fat content of each batch from mincer. Follows proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.
Transfers cut and ground meat to trays. Loads trays onto large plastic tray and transfers to large wheeled rack for wrappers. Assists with wrapping. Assists with stocking meat case according to Meat Manager’s plan for product presentation and merchandising.
Cleans and sanitises area throughout the day, including coolroom. Performs duties to comply with health regulations, such as sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures.
Performs routine maintenance for machinery and equipment.
Assists with monthly stocktake (inventory).
Approve and submits physical inventory periodically and orders to buying buying office for euipment, mechandise and supplies.
Approves timecards and other reports.
Implements and upholds proper Meat Department and general safety procedures and standasrds.
Follows Sanitation Standard Operating procedures (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitationof all equipment required by the position.
Assists the other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
Complies with health code.
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
Computer, copier, phone, Band Saw, Tenderiser, grinder, wheeled racks, wrapping machine and pressure washer.
Qualifications:
Education/Training: completed Apprenticeship/Trade School preferred.
Experience: Must be a fully qualified Butcher.
Supervisory, customer service, leadership or comparable experience.
