Job Summary:As our Workshop Manager, you'll take the reins of our bustling operation, guiding a team of skilled mechanics, and ensuring smooth workflow to meet our customers' requirements. This role is not just about management - it's about leadership, inspiration, and setting the standard for quality and service in our workshop. You'll also liaise closely with our head Mechanic/Assistant Manager to ensure all tasks are carried out to the highest quality, and you'll play a pivotal role in customer service and business management. Key Responsibilities:1. Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and meeting customer requirements.
2. Manage a team of 3 trained mechanics, promoting professional development and high-performance standards.
3. Collaborate closely with the head Mechanic/Assistant Manager to ensure all tasks are carried out to the highest quality.
4. Assist with booking in jobs, ensuring optimal workload distribution and scheduling.
Your Role:Customer Service:
- Booking in Jobs
- Preparing quotes
- Providing quotes to customers
- Greeting customers
- Taking payments
Job Management:
- Allocating work
- Ordering parts
- Managing workflow
- Handling enquiries from staff
Business Management:
- Quality control
- Staff KPI
- Business KPIs
- Accounts payable reconciliation
You will be Supported By:
A virtual PA who assists with:
- Obtaining part prices
- Preparing quotes and invoices
- Taking customer calls
- Booking in jobs
The Head Mechanic/ assistant manager who:
- Manages technical aspects of the work
- Assists with quotes
- Diagnostics
- General workshop management
About You:
1. Proven experience in a similar role, such as a mechanic, workshop controller, foreman, or operations manager in the automotive industry.
2. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
3. Excellent attention to detail and a deep understanding of the requirements of customers.
4. Ability to problem-solve under pressure and make effective decisions.
