Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO Ex Perth The role of the Mechanical Engineer is to provide technical support using initiatives and applying engineering techniques, data analysis, improvement projects and defect elimination for the operational Ore Processing Facility. Key Responsibilities Liaison with relevant departments to provide technical solutions Manage the development and execution of operational and capital projects Complete Root Cause Analysis for plant downtime events Ensure correct application of Health & Safety standards including Change Management Monitor quality assurance of critical processes Achieve targets set for defined sections of area budgets Qualifications and Experience At least 3+ years fixed plant experience in an engineering and/or projects role Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering Mining experience in hard rock applications Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus Excellent problem solving skills and continual improvement focus Knowledge of relevant Mines legislations and regulations Knowledge of computer management systems Great communication skills Planning, organisational, budgeting, scheduling and coordination skills Our Commitment Fortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
