Garwood International is part of the McHugh Engineering group of companies. We are an Australian owned and operated family business located in Wetherill Park, Sydney with offices abroad. We operate a well-established and successful business engaged in the design, manufacture and sale of specialized machinery and equipment. The company designs and manufactures mobile recycling equipment for local councils & private contractors.
Location: Wetherill Park, NSW
Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum
Role: Full-time
Key responsibilities include:
· Plan, design and install all mechanical components and systems of Garwood products.
· Conduct research that tests and analyses the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
· Identify suitable materials for different components of the recycling equipment, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
· Coordinate and monitor all aspects of production, including fabrication and operation of componentry designs.
· Estimate production costs and contribute to overall cost estimation of new or modified products.
· Recommend design modifications to eliminate any machine or system malfunctions.
· Implement and oversee routine maintenance procedures for mechanical and process installations.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, project managers, and contractors.
· Ensure quality of all mechanical componentry, including safety and environmental aspects
· Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relative codes and standards.
Requirements, Qualification, and Skills:
· At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
· Master’s degree in mechanical/production engineering
· Excellent understanding & experience in a fabrication environment.
· Practical and creative
· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Strong technical ability
