The role:
- Design components and accessories and follow your design from design to manufacture
- Prototype testing, trials and coordinating final sign off
- Undertake DFM, DFX projects in collaboration with Operations, Sales and Marketing
- Undertake design failure test and validation to ensure products meet regulatory and performance and quality specifications
- Work with sales, supply chain, marketing and customer service teams
- Generate compliance documentation, fitting instructions and BOM
- Idea and solution sharing
- Liaising with the team and other departments and stakeholders
- WHS adherence
You:
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical, Aerospace or Mechatronics Engineering
- 3-5 years in a similar role (high touch manufacturing in an automotive related industry preferred)
- Solidworks, Microsoft Project, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Creo and Catia acknowledged
- Proficient in plastic moulding, aluminium extrusions, and sheet metal design
- Experienced in FEA
- Demonstrated adherence to engineering product design and development processes
- Skilled in design for manufacture, quality control, and assembly
- Strong focus on safety protocols and conducting audits
- Proven track record of timely project reporting
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and team collaboration abilities
- Capable of working autonomously with a hands-on approach
- Mechanical aptitude and practical approach to work tasks
