Mechanical Engineering Technician

TEHMAR Pty Ltd is in need of a Mechanical Engineering Technician.

We are a service, support and maintenance business and maintain various specialised port type and other machines, from reach stackers to Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHC’s). 

An opportunity exists in our team for an experienced and specialist MHC Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Team.

In this role, your key duties will include but are not limited to:

• This is a full-time role (40 hours) per week and will require you to perform the following tasks:
  • Assist with assembling and installing new and modified MHC assemblies and components as required
  • Complete electrical & mechanical fault finding and diagnosis of MHC’s
  • Recommend and assist with the prepare of tooling and equipment for projects as required
  • Quote work that will involve estimating quantities and materials to complete MHC projects
  • Ensure that finished works are within specification when MHCs have been commissioned or as part of an annual inspection
  • Assist, through supervision, maintenance and inspections of MHC's as required.
  • Be able to read, analyse and modify MHC software and if modifications are made record these changes.
  • Be able to work in a Team environment for the installation, commissioning, mobilising of large equipment (+100ton)

To be a successful candidate for this role, it is essential that you…

• Have formal training and verifiable experience with the Konecranes Gottwald MHC product
• Able to work with Siemens S5 and S7 systems and the diagnosis of.
• Able to do hydraulic system fault diagnosis and support work
• Able to work and support large mechanical type repairs
• Comfortable working at heights for sustained periods (40m+)
• Have a valid driver’s licence.

 Required Qualifications:

• Diploma of Engineering, Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma or similar or three years of relevant experience in lieu of the formal qualifications listed above.

• Mobile Harbour Crane-specific Technical Training
• White Card – Construction Induction
• EWP > 11 metres and Forklift
• Hi-Risk Work licenses
• Senior First Aid
