We are growing and are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to assist our management team for 2024 and beyond! This exciting new role will see you move to Weipa and be able to explore what the cape has too offer!

Hours of Duty:
Nominally 38 hours per week and additional reasonable overtime.

Primary Objectives of the position:
Direct and control mechanical maintenance activities to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met.
You will have experience in the following to be successful in this role.
Key duties & responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Day-to-day management of the mechanical maintenance division inclusive of allocated employees.
•Job planning, management and completion - including quoting and invoicing.
•Review and authorise project/shutdown program and completion schedules. Determine labour availability and workloads for each work order.
•Stock and consumable management.
•Providing input into methodology reviews and authorising maintenance work packs.
•Meet relevant standards and codes.
•Establishing and maintaining effective communication with the Company's representatives, field staff and clients to ensure close and good working relationships are maintained.
•Ensure that the workplace is safe and compliant with local and federal health and safety standards.
•Lead and implement mechanical maintenance processes and strategies to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
•Identify hazards, assess risks to health and safety, put appropriate safety controls in place, and provide advice about accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees.
•Manage productivity levels of the maintenance team by setting KPI's and ensuring targets are achieved in a timely manner.
•Engage and collaborate with Supervisors on the planning and execution of maintenance schedules and activities.
•Priorities and delegate work for contract partners and ensure the work is carried out in a quality, safe and productive manner.
•Organise the required materials to ensure delivery of allocated tasks are on time.
•Maintain accurate records, reports and work procedures.
•Actively seek opportunities to promote and reinforce a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
•Undertake other duties as directed.
