The Prevention Division aims to reduce the risk of cancer in the Victorian population through social marketing, advocacy, professional education and providing policy advice based on the best available evidence. This involves action to affect individual behaviours and the broader physical and legislative environment to support health and wellbeing.
About your opportunityWe are seeking a Media and Communications Coordinator to join the Healthy Places team in the Prevention Division to work on Vic Kids Eat Well and the Achievement Program.
Reporting to the Senior Communications Advisor, your role is to add value to two exciting state-wide initiatives creating healthier places for children and young people through:
- Media and Communications Implementation: Carry out various Media and communication tasks as directed by the Media and Communications Advisor. This includes crafting engaging written content for different platforms like websites, newsletters, blogs, and video scripts.
- Digital Communications Management: Support digital communication strategies by managing website content, creating a social media calendar, developing digital assets, and overseeing web and social media channels to boost engagement and assess performance.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate communications with stakeholders by creating toolkits, crafting e-newsletter content, and keeping stakeholder lists up to date, fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Content Development: Produce compelling content by sourcing and writing case studies, drafting media releases, and creating regular blog or online posts on relevant topics to promote organisational initiatives and engage audiences.
We are looking for someone with:
- Diploma or above in communications, public relations, or other relevant discipline.
- Excellent written communication skills, with experience developing case studies, press releases, articles, and other communication materials.
- Experience in developing engaging content and managing social media technologies.
- Good understanding of website content development, including using content management systems.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Base salary of $69,090 to $76,464 p.a. (dependant on experience, pro rata for part time) plus 11% superannuation
