Job description

Ballina Health Centre is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist and Naturopath at our holistic medical centre.
As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing administrative tasks, and potentially offering naturopathic services/advice to our patients.
If you have a background in reception and a genuine interest in naturopathy/nutrition this role is tailored for you.
This dual role requires experience in reception proficiency in social media and technical skills, appointment scheduling, phone handling, patient interactions, performing various test, vitamin supply management, assisting with the development of online education material and website maintenance.
Job Responsibilities:
Reception administration tasks such as: answering phones, processing claims and payments.
Managing appointment scheduling and confirmations.
Handling patient inquiries and providing information with compassion.
Coordinating patient recalls and follow-up procedures with precision.
Managing medication expiry dates and overseeing disposal processes.
Handling faxing, scanning, and filing of documents with attention to detail.
Applying naturopathic/nutrition knowledge to provide advice and recommendations for holistic healthcare solutions.
Developing and managing social media profiles to promote our services and actively engage with the community.
Updating and maintaining the medical center’s website.
Ordering and maintaining stock of supplements and treatment room supplies.
Lodging Medicare, Veterans Affairs, and work cover documents efficiently.
Participating in ongoing professional development activities.
Opening and closing of the practice.
Essential Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, embodying compassion, and empathy.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively within our team.
Proficient computer skills including the use of practice software, Microsoft Word and email
Strong social media skills for effective online presence management.
Technical skills, including familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
Demonstrated recent administration experience with knowledge of procedures relating to telephone, reception, and customer service in a medical/health care environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
Previous experience in a general practice setting.
Proficiency in the Windows operating system and Bestpractice software.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Qualifications, currently studying or interest in Naturopath/Nutrition.
Familiarity with vitamin and supplement products.
