West Coast Anaesthesiologists Group in Joondalup WA have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, Full-Time Medical Administrator to join our experienced administrative team, as they provide support to our 30 + Specialist Anaesthetists. Salary commensurate with skills and experience.
This is a busy role to which the ideal candidate will bring:
- Previous experience in computerised billing and receipting in a medical environment with a strong knowledge of health fund schemes, Medicare, electronic claiming, and fee schedules.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
- An understanding of customer service principles with an ability to respond sensitively to patient needs.
- An ability to work effectively both independently and in a team to achieve common goals.
- An ability to carefully plan, organise and prioritise tasks.
- An ability to work under pressure and respond to fluctuating workflow and internal/external demands.
- The ability to follow direction, accept and respond to feedback, learn new tasks, adapt to change, and show initiative.
Duties include:
- Answering incoming phone calls and dealing with general enquires.
- Liaising with Surgeons rooms and Hospitals.
- Diary management.
- Sending informed financial consents.
- Invoicing and receipting payments.
- Liaising with Medicare, insurance companies and private health funds.
- Debt collection.
- General office duties.
Essential criteria:
- Experience in administration.

- Willing to learn and accept constructive feedback.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in a surgical specialty or anaesthetic practice.
- Experience using MediTrust Practice Management Software
- Knowledge of Anaesthetic Billing
