We treat psychological trauma using a holistic approach to mental health and offer gold standard and innovative therapies, including EMDR and Psychedelic-assisted therapy. With exciting growth in our clinic we are looking to hire an outstanding Medical Receptionist to join our team.

About the role
As a full-time Medical Receptionist/Patient Liaison you are a key part of our admin team. You are often a first point of contact with the clinic and will build a strong rapport with our patients and clinicians. You will enjoy engaging with people from all walks of life, and use a caring and compassionate approach towards your job to ensure our patients experience is calm, safe and positive.
You will be passionate about working in the medical/allied health, a hard worker with great initiative and demonstrated reliability. With a proven history in a similar role, you will be confident in your skills and able to work autonomously in a busy environment. You will have a positive demeanour and be a team player.
The role will suit those with qualifications in and/or experience working within the mental health setting including mental health support workers and receptionists/administrators.
Hours
Full time, 38 hours per week. Pax Centre operates Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 6.00pm.
Pay
$28-$30 per hour negotiable depending on experience
Skills and experience
This role is fast paced requiring accurate multi-tasking with attention to detail. You must be customer service focused with a warm disposition.
Essential Criteria:
- Passionate about engaging with others in a respectful, kind and caring way while having a sound understanding of boundaries and patient confidentiality.
- Emotionally resilient and willing to undertake Mental Health First Aid training.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a role which allowed you to develop strong customer facing skills including problem solving, working under pressure at times and working collaboratively with other members of a team.
- Ability to work independently and use your initiative to make sure tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Confident, professional and friendly manner with excellent communication skills.
Preferred Criteria:
- Previous experience and confidence using medical software (eg Halaxy).
- Knowledge of Medicare/DVA systems and regulations.
- Experience with maintaining accurate and confidential medical records.
