Experienced Medical Receptionist to join our Specialist Practice at John Flynn Hospital. Casual position 3-4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday)and with an option to go Permanent Part time after 6 months probabation.
Attributes required:
- Previous experience with using any medical software (Gentu or Genie experience would be an advantage) and knowledge of medical terminology is essential
- Familiarity with Health funds, MBS codes and general hospital procedures
- Australian Resident or Citizen
- Excellent communication skills
- Fast and adaptive learner
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Attention to detail
- Proven history of reliability
The role involves:
- Reception duties
- Meeting and greeting patients
- Email & fax correspondences
- Managing and scheduling of appointment booking
- Processing payments
About Us
We are a specialist medical practise located within John Flynn Hospital.
The Position:
Casual position 3-4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday) and with an option to go Permanent Part time after 6 months probabation. Practise hours are 8AM to 4 PM with expectation to work additional hours if required to cover leave. We have a 2 week closure period over Christmas.
This is a fast paced role and requires a mature, responsible individual with excellent time management skills and exceptional attention to detail. A warm, approachable and friendly personality is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients with a high level of customer service.
- Answer and respond to a high volume of telephone enquiries with a courteous and professional manner.
- Registering patients and making appointments.
- Accurately process patient payments via cash & eftpos.
- At all times maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information.
- Ensure the accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records.
- Filing/Faxing as well as sending patient reports through Medical Objects.
- Providing cover for sick/holiday/other leave as required.
Requirements
- Experience with past Medical Specialist practices will be preferred with proficiency with Word and Medical Objects
- Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills
- Commitment to ethical behaviour and conduct
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate initiative, wllingness to learn, & ability to multi- task
- Have the ability to work independently
- Ability to empathise with patients
