Schwarz team are currently seeking a dedicated and professional Receptionists to join the team at Schwarz Family Practice located in Elderslie. This role is central to organising appointments, maintaining records, and performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of our practice and the provision of exceptional care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Handle telephone enquiries promptly and courteously.
- Schedule appointments following established procedures.
- Manage patient invoicing, receipting, and processing bulk bill claims.
- Update and maintain patient registrations and medical records.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all privacy guidelines.
- Ensure the reception area is tidy and welcoming.
- Participate in staff meetings and attend training sessions as required.
- Perform general administrative duties such as handling mail, typing medical reports, and maintaining documentation.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professional demeanour and a patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- CPR/Triage training and/or experience.
- Experience with diverse social groups.
- Knowledge of medical terminology through completion of an accredited Medical Receptionist course.
- Training in emergency management, handling complaints, and basic infection control.
