Day-to-day responsibilities
- Responsible for the smooth running of the front desk, including taking appointments, billing patients and general patient and doctor correspondence
- Liaise with referring doctors and hospital staff courteously
- Answer the telephone promptly and courteously as possible
- Take messages and ensure they are attended to, in line with relevant doctor requests
- Manage daily correspondence, including opening incoming mail, scan, process cheques and reply to emails
- Gather medical records and reports in readiness for consultations
- Word processing
- Practice Management Software
- Excellent personal communication skills with an ability to relate to people at all levels and form diverse backgrounds
Experience
- Experience having worked in a specialist medical practice
- Previous experience with Shexie, preferable but not required
