Mitcham General Practice is a modern family owned and operated practice.
Quality is at the heart of the service that we provide and we are seeking a Medical Receptionist who reflects these values to join our team.
We are located next to the vibrant Mitcham Shopping Centre precinct and opposite the Mitcham Library. We are surrounded by great restaurants as well as excellent schools & community facilities.
About the role
PT or FT opportunity- 25-35 hrs/week
Salary - Hourly rate to be negotiated based on previous experience.
About you
- Competent in using Patient Management Software; highly desirable
- Previous Medical Reception experience within the healthcare industry; highly desirable
- Intermediate level computer literacy
- Professional personal presentation
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to provide effective customer service in a professional manner
- Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to take initiative as well as to follow instructions
- Switched-on/pro-active work ethic and friendly attitude
- Ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Job responsibilities
- Providing a high quality first point of contact for all patients and visitors
- To provide a range of administration and support services to all practitioners and nursing team
- Ensure all patients and visitors are received in a friendly, prompt and helpful manner, either face to face or over the phone
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when recording and maintaining patient, clinic and service information
- Maintain confidentiality of practice information, as well as patient privacy at all times
- Ensure that medical or other billing is carried out correctly in a timely manner
- General administration tasks as required
- Maintaining a clean and highly functional work environment
