Medical Receptionist

Shore Eye Surgery is a boutique ophthalmic (eye) clinic located in the new North Shore Health Hub. We are a short walk from St Leonard's station. We are looking for a motivated casual or part time Medical Receptionist to join our team 1-2 days per week.

Key responsibilities:

• Answering the phone, checking voicemails
• Triaging referrals, sending doctor's correspondence
• Scheduling appointments on our medical software (Gentu), patient billing, sending Medicare and ECLIPSE claims
• Liaising with patients, doctors and colleagues in a friendly and helpful manner
• Accurate data entry, scanning and maintenance of patient information
• Light tidying of reception area
• Assisting the doctor and practice manager with administrative tasks as needed (i.e. getting pathology results and referrals)

Desirable qualities

• Experience working in a medical practice (not essential)
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously 
• Computer literacy (we are a paperless clinic)
• Critical thinking and ability to problem solve

We are open Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm. We are open to negotiate hours however candidates must have flexibility to cover for when staff are away or sick. This is an on-site position and there is no possibility of remote work.
