Job Description
The mental health consulting suites at Epworth Camberwell are seeking experienced medical reception staff. The role involves providing high level administration support to the Psychiatrist’s Private Practice, including managing daily schedules, patient billing and providing excellent customer service to our patients and visitors. There are permanent positions available based on a rotating roster.
You will make an impact by:
- Provide a courteous reception service to patients and visitors whilst demonstrating effective communication skills, empathy, understanding, patience and a positive service focus
- Accurately maintain the doctor’s appointment schedule Invoicing, billing and receipting of patient accounts – including resolution of account discrepancies
- Contribute to the efficiency and harmonious working environment of the hospital

You will be a positive team player with an ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail and be accountable.
You will have:
- Experience working in a health care environment
- Call management experience (i.e. busy phone/reception)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Experience using Healthcare IT systems and Patient Database programs (Genie highly regarded)
- A working understanding of Banking procedures/EFTPOS, Medicare/DVA/TAC/ Workcover and private billing
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Flexible working attitude
- Ability to work autonomously and show initiative in solving basic problems within established guidelines and achieve work targets with minimum supervision
