PT Position available for experienced, highly motivated and reliable Medical Secretary / Receptionist to join our small Specialist Practice – Urology just south of the Swan River, in Palmyra. You will be a part of dedicated team that provides high level of customer service to our patients and administrative support to our urologic surgeon.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Front desk reception – answering telephone calls, liaising with patients in person or in writing, scheduling appointments and effectively managing clinics.
- Providing administrative support for patient bookings for appointments and procedures at multiple hospital sites, including preparing quotations, relevant paperwork to patients and parties involved in patient care.
- Liaise with other practice stakeholders including GPs, other health professionals and their staff, health funds, Medicare, DVA.
- Providing other general administration support, supporting WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) standards.
- Preparing patient invoices and receipts, handling cash, EFTPOS and other payments; following up bad debts.
- Maintaining accurate patient records while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Prepare correspondence and assist medical practitioner with preparing reports and other relevant documents.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Minimum 2-year experience in similar medical administration role, preferably within specialist surgical practice.
- Experience in using database software relevant to the medical practice – medical software (C2C, Gentu/Genie), Healthlink
- Great customer-service skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate with diverse range of people
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently but also part of a team
- Great attention to detail
- Effective time management and prioritising skills
- Excellent computer skills - MS Office Suite + ability to learn new software.
- Right to work in Australia
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination due to mandatory vaccinations
- Ability to travel to Waikiki location
Desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Letter/Audio typing experience

Job Type: Part-time, Temp to perm. Days of work - negotiable 3-5 days/week+ cover for leaves of absence, must be available Tuesdays.
Practice is located in Palmyra, once a month consulting from Waikiki SC location.
