This role provides a coordination function in relation to Mental HealthCrisis Care for Mental Health Service, supported by linkages with and utilisation of real time data management in relation to Acute Care Services, crisis stabilisation program, Emergency Department, as well as other Mental Health outpatient and inpatient services.
Please note: This role can also be filled by a Clinical Nurse Consultantas per Role Description.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Occupational Therapists/Psychologists/Social Workers - Senior (Mental Health - Crisis Care Coordinator) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver efficient and responsive Mental Health assessment and management at a high level
- Provide intensive, developmentally appropriate, community centred, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Service interventions and assessments for patients who require higher intensity services
- Deliver high level clinical services in accordance with professional code of ethics and National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce
- Demonstrate high level clinical leadership and advocacy for the Mental Health needs of service consumers and their carers
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Possession of a tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist/Psychologist only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- Appointment or eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (several positions, 48 hrs p.f)
- Base salary ranging from $64.90 - $70.47 per hour
About Us
Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS) provide integrated hospital and community specialised Mental Health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented. The Crisis Care Coordinator will work within the Acute Care Team intake component and will work closely in collaboration with the MHSS, specifically the Mental Health Acute Care Team and the Mental Health Crisis Stabilisation Facility.
