An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Mental Health Clinician with tertiary qualifications in appropriate disciplines (Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing or Clinical Psychology) to join the Day Program therapy team. The Day Program therapy team offers evidence-based therapy treatment programs for people with a range of psychiatric conditions and will include inpatient and outpatient groups.
As a Mental Health Clinician your experience will include:
- Working in a Multidisciplinary Team - and team work experience
- using ACT, CBT, DBT -formal training in these therapies and Intervention
- facilitating group therapy .
- Care Planning for Adult Mental Health clients
- risk assessment and safety planning
Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. In February 2021, a purpose built 18 bed inpatient Mental Health & AoD Unit, The Darwin Clinic opened, a new service for patients in the Northern Territory. It also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program. The Darwin Clinic will offer Territorians a range of vital Mental Health supports, including alcohol and drug withdrawal programs, and treatment for a range of Mental Health conditions including personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma and post traumatic stress disorders.
Selection Criteria:
- Knowledge and experience in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
- Experience in the development and creative delivery of group therapy
- Membership of the relevant professional association
- Strong Risk Management skills
- Well-developed assessment and report writing skills
- Capacity to work well in a team and practice reflectively
