Role Overview:

Join UnitingSA in delivering exceptional and meaningful care asa Mental Health Worker! We currently have positions availableacross multiple regional locations including;

  • Renmark, 5341
  • Pirie, 5540
  • Clare, 5453
  • Murray Bridge, 5253

This role supports people experiencing Mental Health challenges,by providing a range of non-clinical acute and non-acutepsycho-social rehabilitation services.

Within a new Mental Health Service Model, as a Mental HealthWorker with UnitingSA, you will provide intensive crisis support tohigh intensity clients and non-acute psychosocial support tomoderate intensity clients. Within the supports provided you willwork towards reducing levels of distress to increase the wellbeingof our clients. You will approach this role with meaning, providingsupport to build people’s independence, connection withcommunity supports and improve consumer’s quality oflife.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a range of person centred and goal-oriented support services that enable consumers to achieve their goals and improved wellbeing.
  • Work with consumers to develop and achieve individual plans centred around achieving their goals.
  • Observe and report on consumers health and wellbeing concerns.
  • Assist consumers/team to review consumer support plan goals.
  • Provide respectful support, when needed, around individual health issues.
  • Plan and action time effectively to meet UnitingSA program and client needs.
  • Support consumers to navigate NDIS and other relevant systems to facilitate NDIS applications, when needed.

Skills & Experience:

  • A certificate 4 in Mental Health or related discipline is essential
  • Experience working with adults with multiple and complex psychosocial needs.
  • Experience working within a collaborative and cohesive team environment.
  • Data entry skills, including computer-based case noting.
  • Ability to motivate highly disengaged clients in designing and achieving personal goals.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution and working with people experiencing crisis.
  • Ability to work across both non-acute and acute settings.
  • Experience and ability to work in a self-directed and autonomous outreach role.

Special requirements:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current SA Drivers licence
  • Some out of hours work including weekends may be required
