We have a position for a Metal Machinist available:

Purpose of Position Complete hands-on activities in the workshop such as repairs, builds, testing, machining and welding to service customer equipment in line with industry best practices, company standards, policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

1. Strip and inspect components and parts and record critical information 2. Apply skills set to perform allocated work to the required standards within agreed timeframes and following job instructions, company procedures and processes.

This may include:

·        reading and interpreting job specifications, technical drawings and schematics

·        performing bench work including assembly and disassembly, modifications, cleaning, measuring, inspection and testing

·        installing, testing, repairs and doing rebuilds

·        operating heavy machinery, hand tools and lifting equipment etc

·        making sketches or manufacturing parts to drawings

3. Maintain equipment, tools and work area. 4. Maintain documentation and service records as per procedure. 5. Direct and mentor trades assistants and apprentices where required. 6. Achieve chargeable labour recovery and work centre recovery targets. 7. Perform work safely and comply with WHS procedures.

Skills and Knowledge

1.       Trade skills and knowledge of repair / machining procedures.

2.       Able to manufacture components.

3.       Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

4.       Able to prepare and plan for jobs.

5.       Able to prepare clear concise strip and assess, and service reports.

6.       Attention to detail.

Qualifications & Experience:

1.       Suitable Certification or relevant experience

2.       At least 3 years’ experience in a similar environment

Salary: $70k - $90k pa
