Martin Engineering Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated Bunbury business that was opened in 1981. We provide general and specialised machining and welding services to both local and remote mining, forestry and associated industries with a heavy focus towards onsite line boring, fabrication and onsite machining services across the state. Martin Engineering Pty Ltd is known for its high level of quality and service to clients across several disciplines and is a vendor of choice to many of the largest mining and OEM equipment providers in WA.
Qualifications & experience
- Trade qualification in machining/welding is essential with experience in field machining and line boring being highly favourable. Min 2 years post trade experience is required for this role
- Machining, Welding or Mechanical background and experience is a requirement of this position - extensive training is available to the successful candidate
- MR or HR Truck license desirable
- Manual drivers license - the successful applicant will be required to have their own reliable transportation to and from work
- Must have the ability to pass medical and drug and alcohol test and be able to obtain a National Police Clearance
- High Risk Work License is desirable
- Must be highly motivated to achieve results, improve and learn new skills as well as share knowledge with other team members and be available to work regular and short notice overtime in order to keep our clients up and running
- Ability and willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice with overnight stays
- Must possess a strong attitude towards client satisfaction
- A keen eye and passion for detail, quality and constant improvement is a key component of this position
Tasks & responsibilities
- General Machining duties in a well equipped workshop - Manual turning, milling, drilling, Horizontal Borer work and fitting
- Onsite line boring of mobile and fixed plant equipment
- Ensure both company and client Health & Safety standards are adhered to and maintained at a high standard
- Maintain accurate time keeping and work scope records
- Be a great problem solver and communicator with a can do attitude that is able to work in both a team environment and alone with minimal supervision whilst meeting both client and company expectations of performance in a safe and timely manner
- Must have a strong focus on work quality and client satisfaction with a willingness to learn new skills
- You will be responsible for training apprentices in this role
