Situated in regional QLD, this mining operation is a significant contributor to Australia's mining sector, and are currently seeking a motivated Mine Accountant to join their team. This position presents an outstanding opening that would suit an experienced accountant or a business/finance-focused analyst currently working on-site at a mining operation in a comparable role or hailing from a related heavy industry and looking to transition into the mining sector.
This position will be based on-site at their operation and will require relocation to a nearby township, which will be fully supported, or alternate travel options from within the region with camp accommodation provided.
What to expect:
As a member of the Finance team stationed on-site, you'll be tasked with a diverse array of responsibilities. You will be delving into the preparation and support of financial, management, and cost reporting needs, offering leadership valuable insights into financial performance of the operation. Your role will involve pinpointing opportunities for enhancing financial processes and reporting procedures. Additionally, you'll execute various accounting tasks to meet month-end obligations effectively, and work closely with various departments to contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts, and monitoring and reporting costs across various operational facets.

- A qualification in Commerce, Accountancy, or a related field.
- A CPA/CA qualification will be highly regarded but not essential.
- Prior experience in a hands-on accounting position within a Mining environment or a relatable heavy industry.
- Advanced Excel expertise and experience with ERP systems.
- Strong communication skills and easy to deal with.
