Roster: This is a permanent FIFO role FIFO Perth working on an 8/6, 4/3, 4/3 roster.
Reporting to the Mine Services Senior Engineer, the Mine Services Mechanical Engineer is a role that supports operation, maintenance, improvements & asset management activities to ensure assets availability and reliability meets Fortescue operation requirements. You will be working across a broad range of portfolios including mine dewatering, water treatment , fire diesel fuel systems and Fortescue decarbonisation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and identify gaps in our operations environment.
- Design and optimisation of infrastructure (Incl. Pump, VSD Panel and Generator selection, Piping design, Instrumentation, Control and SCADA Implementation).
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as the Planning, Mining, Project teams, and Decarbonisation teams to facilitate the implementation of the projects in alignment with Fortescue work management processes.
- Provide guidance, instruction, and technical support to the operation.
- Design pit flood response plans and support pit flood response operations.
- Create, Maintain, and update operational asset registers, Arc GIS network & Vulcan.
- Identify improvements with regards to FMG dewatering infrastructure reliability, standards and processes & maintenance optimisation.
• 2-5 years' experience in a water system design and/or operations environment or heavy industries projects. Some exposure to mining is desirable.
• Previous pump station and pipeline design experience and/or hydraulic modelling experience is desirable.
• Previous PLC, SCADA & Automation experience in mining NPI space is highly desirable.
• Experience with SAP, ArcGis Utility Network and Vulcan is desirable.
• Knowledge of industry and Australian standards and their application.
• Tertiary degree in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
• Current Drivers Licence (C Class).
