THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, the Mine Surveyor is to provide accurate and timely measurements, design set outs, and records of the mine site. This is used as a basis to update the mine plans and support production activity in accordance with Company policies, procedures and standards to ensure the continuity of the Company’s operation
This is a permanent full-time position that operates on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Key Responsibilities but not limited;
- Conduct open pit mine surveying
- Provide set-outs, pick-ups and monitoring
- Survey compliance to design utilizing both an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Leica GPS equipment
- Survey and calculate volumes as requested
- Measuring total volumes mined, stockpiled and produced
- Measuring quantities of blasted material
- End of month surveys, volumes, reconciliations and reporting
- Assist the mining team to maintain accurate plans for the mine site and associated infrastructure
Mining Production
- Set out of control points, pit and stockpile designs, drill patterns, ore markouts, and no dig lines.
- Pick up drill holes collars, blast pattern outlines, blast heave, misfires, waste dumps, ROM stockpiles, process plant stockpiles, as built final pit wall toes and berms
Mine Planning and Supporting Operations
- Input and validate data to the mine as built database
- Participation in daily mine planning meetings
- Follow the procedures in place for the timely and accurate collection of mine as built information to contribute to the mining contract management, mine planning, mining reconciliation to optimize the ore reserve
- Ensure survey information is accurate and validated
- Survey and define the lease boundaries, access roads and water courses
- Follow all mine surveying procedures for the mining operation
Assist the mining team;
- To generate dig, drill and blast plans;
- Collect timely spatial data inputs for the Daily, weekly and month end reporting;
- To track the drilled, blasted stocks and mine production; and
- Record the condition of pit walls and berms and pit wall movements over time.
Team – Mining Engineering
- Review mining plans prior to being issued
- Participate in training as required to build capability within the Mine Surveying team
- Attend daily prestart and weekly safety meetings of the Mine Surveying team
- Follow procedures for all mine surveying activity safely to achieve regulatory compliance
ABOUT YOU
WA Authorised Mine Surveyor’s Certificate
A degree or diploma in Mine Surveying that is acceptable to gain an Authorised Mine Surveyor’s Certificate as per the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995
WA C class driver's license
3 - 5 yrs experience in a similar role in a Mine Survey Team
Proficiency in using mine surveying software, particularly Surpac
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software
Proficiency in using pit wall monitoring software
