Glencore's McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world class zinc lead mine with a long future. You'll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and is shipped to our customers all over the world. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.
We are currently seeking a Mine Systems Technician to join our Technical Services team at MRM. In this role, you will provide support and field maintenance services related to our operational technology systems. These systems play a crucial role in enhancing the safety, efficiency, and productivity of our mining operations at MRM. They encompass various functions such as communications, fleet management, water monitoring, fatigue monitoring, and more.
Your responsibilities will involve applying your knowledge to perform maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting tasks across a range of operational technology systems.
To excel in this position, the following qualifications and skills are required:
- Demonstrable experience with hands-on field work practical experience in working with power and hand tools, as well as expertise in scoping, implementing and troubleshooting various jobs.
- Trade certification and/or a certificate 3 in one of the following areas: communications, electrical, auto-electrical, instrumentation & control, radio, or electronics
- A minimum of 3 years experience in one of the following domains: mining systems, industrial control systems, electrical, instrumentation, electronics, or communications.
- Experience working with extra low voltage electrical (ELV) DC systems in automotive, solar, and instrumentation contexts.
- Proficient understanding of IP networking
