Workshop Technician

In line with our expansion and project requirements, we are currently seeking an individual to address our customers' needs across the diverse range of GeoRadar products we offer.
As a Workshop Technician at IDS Georadar, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our busy workshop, focusing on the assembly and upgrading of Radar Systems to comply with Australian standards.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Execute modifications and enhancements to diesel generator systems as required for radar system installations.
- Configure, assemble, and install 12/24V battery systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Plan and implement the routing of cabling for computer and communication systems within radar installations, optimizing connectivity and performance.
- Utilise a variety of hand tools, battery-operated tools, and power tools such as drills, grinders, and power saws proficiently in the assembly and modification processes.
- Safely un-crate and crate Radar Systems and components destined for sale, ensuring proper handling and protection during transit.
- Perform installations of Radar Systems and associated equipment into shipping containers, adhering to technical specifications and project requirements.
- Due to the nature of the role, there will be other duties from time to time.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Mechanical experience, ideally in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, battery-operated tools, and power tools for assembly and modification tasks.
- Sound understanding of mechanical principles, with experience in diesel generator modifications and battery system configuration preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow assembly instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Required - valid drivers license and the ability to operate forklifts and other machinery (if required).
