This position is based at Ironbark No.1 which is located within the Bowen Basin and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a new mine development, join the team, and set the standards from the onset. We are looking for an energetic and experienced Ventilation Officer to join the team and develop a new mine.
About the role
If you have a growth mindset, we have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Mining Engineer. This is a critical role within the technical services team responsible for developing and implementing robust mine design and schedules for the operations. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in new and greenfield projects, learning new skills and stretching your known abilities. You will be a part of a team that has extensive operational experience both domestically and internationally, with strength and focus in a large scale longwall operation.
Key Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Management of the Permit to Mine process to ensure that all required technical information is communicated to the production departments
- Actively participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of all SHMS documentation.
- Actively support the Technical Services Superintendent in the development of operational schedules.
- Assist with the optimisation of the Life of Mine Plan, through application of sound Mining Engineering design and strategic consideration.
- Prepare information for reporting in a professional manner.
- Identify continual improvement opportunities within the Technical Department.
- Conducting project planning, producing project schedules, analysing project progress and reporting on the project planning indicators.
- Assist with the implementation of business strategy.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and implement cost control across the Department.

Got what it takes?
To be successful as our new Mining Engineer, we are looking for someone with suitable qualifications in a mining related discipline and experience. Ideally:
- Mining Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Advanced skills with AutoCAD
- Previous experience with mine planning and scheduling software
- Proven experience with mine planning, scheduling, mine design and contract management
- Maintain a strong focus on systems and processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A strategic thinker with superior reasoning and problem-solving skills
