About The Role
As the fifth-largest iron ore producer in Australia, MinRes operates three key hubs in Western Australia: Yilgarn, Pilbara, and Ashburton. This portfolio includes the transformative Onslow Iron project, one of the largest iron ore projects under development in Australia, forecasted to ship around 35 million tonnes of ore per year.
Reporting to the Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) Superintendent, you will work on an 8:6 roster and manage contractors to deliver NPI construction, implementation, and maintenance. Your scope will include water networks at the mine, buildings, and NPI projects.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading the work in the field and being a technical resource for the dewatering team.
- Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the pit.
- Managing the water network at the mine.
- Liaising with Mining Production to minimise the impact on production.
- Coordinating and managing contractors for NPI works.
- Conducting daily workplace inspections and ensuring work is being performed safely by all workers.
What You Will Bring to The Team
You will have a strong operational mining background, supplemented by previous team leadership experience as a supervisor. Prior maintenance experience is not essential.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Proven contractor management experience.
- Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Whilst not essential, a trade qualification would be beneficial, as would exposure to poly welding.
