The Stroke Nurse will participate in the daily workings of the RMH Stroke Program and the Melbourne Mobile Stroke Unit in their capacity as a nursing professional. Roles on board the Mobile Stroke Unit include, rapid patient assessment, stroke and stroke mimic differential diagnosis, consultation with the neurologist regarding imaging and treatment decision, and assistance with patient care.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Mobile Stroke Unit team. This is an ongoing part-time position, working a rotating roster as required based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, City Campus.
Your Opportunity:
- Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team of professionals participating in the clinical deployment of the Mobile Stroke Unit
- Assistance with the assessment of new research project draft protocols and documentation, and participate in bringing these new projects to HREC submission
- Coordinate with the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators and other Research Nurses, for current and future clinical drug trials
- Liaising with external services as required regarding patient care and follow-up
About You:
- General Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Familiarity with the clinical aspects of stroke and stroke treatment
- Experience or qualifications in Neuroscience, ICU or Emergency Nursing
- Advanced Life Support qualifications
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
