About the Role
ABC News is seeking a Multiplatform producer, to generate original stories and provide significant daily production support for ABC News Digital First platforms to ensure the Network Desk maintains consistently high standards of original, accurate, innovative and relevant journalism.
Reporting to the Newsgathering Editor, you will;
- Research, produce and write high quality, accurate, conversational stories across digital first platforms, particularly video.
- Generate stories that are relevant to a broad cross section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country.
- Work with the ABC's teams of international correspondents and national reporters to help produce their stories.
- Research, develop, report and produce content for social and emerging platforms to meet new audiences where they are.
About You
You will have advanced research, writing and production skills including video package scripting, as well as well-developed ability to write and produce radio scripts and digital stories to a standard ready to publish.
You will also be able to demonstrate;
- Advanced independent editorial judgement with a proven track record working in production in a News/ Current Affairs environment.
- An understanding of digital/social platforms and creative ideas on how to grow new audiences.
- A proven ability to source and maintain contacts across the broader Australian community.
- Ability to work in a collegiate and collaborative manner within a busy national news team.
- Significant experience in planning and troubleshooting with the capacity to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
