About your new role:
Working within the Customer Division of EQL you’ll be reporting to the Negotiated Connections Lead's. As a Customer Project Sponsor, you’ll be the primary point of contact and a subject matter expert who is responsible for managing the customer relationship with the business, from application to energisation.
Your day will require you to liaise with other business units on behalf of the customer, processing application forms for new connections, advising customers of approximate costs associated with installing and/or relocating assets, upgrades, extensions, and recoverable works for metered and un-metered customer-initiated works. As well as compiling concept scope of works, preparing Network Connection Establishment Contracts, and managing the customer relationship.
As a Customer Project Sponsor, you’re accountable for leading project delivery in accordance with customer and legislative requirements through maintaining a focus on ensuring the most cost-effective, technically sound solution for a supply arrangement is identified and actioned, in accordance with legislative requirements, EQL standards, policy, and procedures.
The remuneration for your new role is from $98K plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight and from $125K plus 12.75% super for a 10-day fortnight. You can be based in our EQL office locations in Cairns, Mackay, Maryborough or Rockhampton.

About you:
You’re an experienced customer service professional with knowledge of project management disciplines, with the proven ability to execute projects through all stages.
You’ll leverage your ability, technical knowledge, and proficiency to use a range of moderately complex office equipment, systems, and computer applications. Knowledge in our current operating systems such as Peace, Service Interactions Portal, Ellipse, Smallworld & Microsoft Office, and/or their replacements would be highly desirable.
You hold a Certificate IV in Business Administration or have the working knowledge and capability equivalent to this qualification and role.
To support successful business outcomes you’ll possess well-developed interpersonal, written, verbal communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to develop good working relationships with team members and other stakeholders, particularly in the resolution of differences to achieve the best outcome for all parties.
You will also have a working knowledge and understanding of relevant sections of the Electricity Act and Regulations, EQL policies, procedures, and connection standards in relation to supply arrangements, extensions, relocations, metered and un-metered supply to facilitate customers’ installation requirements.
Additionally, you’re proficient in understanding, reading, and translating maps, drawings, and survey plans.
