Congo Brand’s goal is to be the go-to ‘Better for You Brand’ for everything from nutritional supplements, energy drinks, snacks and much more.The Role:The main priority of the National Account Manager (NAM) Grocery Channel, is to drive the strategy and initiatives set by the Congo Brands leadership team within their assigned National Accounts, from a head office level, down to the regional and state levels. The NAM is tasked with managing and selling the Congo Brands portfolio within these accounts, and is responsible for assigned strategic account targets, budgets, and sales quotas.Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute short and long-term strategies and initiatives with Congo Brands objectives.
  • Own the targets and results for your assigned accounts (budget, volume, distribution, etc.)
  • Management of Metcash and Metcash related multi-site operators across Australia.
  • Facilitate & manage all new line launches, promotional programs, and special offers with each assigned retailer.
  • Secure pricing and promotional programs that align with Congo Brands internal guidance.
  • Manage promotional and trade spend.
  • Lead joint business planning with key customers.
  • Develop relationships and manage all customer correspondence inclusive of presentations to appeal to customer’s needs and fulfill mutual objectives.
  • Manage the range review process and develop growth strategies.
  • Communicate regularly and work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handle other such duties as deemed fit in the execution of the role as assigned by the Country Manager.
Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in a key account management position within a fast-paced and highly competitive business environment, preferably working as a National or Senior Account Manager.
  • Must have experience dealing with Metcash head office, their portals and reporting systems.
  • Must have experience with key Metcash related multi-site operator groups in all states.
  • Proven and successful track record in establishing strong and long-term customer relationships, being able to retain the highest-value relationships.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate high proficiency in MS Office tools, which are necessary for the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations for customers and key stakeholders.
  • The NAM must have an ability to demonstrate an understanding of standard sales analyses and an ability to extract useful insights from raw data and information for the purpose of strategy creation, furthering key account agendas, and enabling the achievement of goals and targets.
  • Must be customer-oriented, result-focused, demonstrate integrity and respect in the performance of duties, and have exceptional organisational skills.
