Job description

Why Smartgroup?

Look forward to working with Australia's leading and most trusted provider of Employee Management Services, making the benefits of salary packaging, novated leasing, and fleet management readily available to employers and their employees.

Working at Smartgroup offers more than a job. It is a dynamic workplace that matches the enthusiasm for the work you do and ambition for an exciting fast-paced career. We have all been hired for a purpose and a reason.

Every day you will be part of a team that helps support fellow Australians - many working in essential services, corporates, government, and not-for-profits - to take home more money in their pay packets.

Do you have what it takes to become a Smartgroup National Dealer Relationship Manager?

As we continue to expand our operations across the country, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Fleet team as a National Dealer Relationship Manager.
You will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining strong rapport and relationships with key external stakeholders, including Fleet Managers, Sales Managers, Dealer Principals, and vehicle manufacturers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing manufacturer incentives, volume, and dealer buy-back contractual arrangements nationwide.
  • Conducting ongoing meetings with manufacturers to discuss and review vehicle pricing, volumes, and associated incentives on a national level.
  • Proactively seeking out and identifying new manufacturers to become viable partners for our 9 Month Buy Back program nationwide.
  • Nurturing existing relationships to positively position the 9 Month Buy Back program with dealerships across the country.
  • Engaging and evaluating dealers nationally for strategic alignment with the 9 Month Buy Back program and reciprocal business opportunities.
  • Reviewing and negotiating key program items with dealers nationwide, such as vehicle pricing and supply availability.
  • Conducting monthly reviews of vehicle stock volumes on a national scale to optimize stock utilization.
  • Collaborating with Client Relationship Managers across the country to fulfill vehicle stock utilization.
  • Ensuring compliance with privacy requirements and legislative obligations on a national level.

To excel in this role, you should:
  • Demonstrated experience within the motor vehicle industry (dealerships or manufacturers) or related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence, and network effectively with key stakeholders on a national scale.
  • Proven track record of growing business opportunities through partnership arrangements.
  • Ability to achieve sales targets, drive results, and work autonomously in a national, sales-focused, and target-driven environment.
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making, and data-driven thinking skills.

Belong to an organisation that values diversity, inclusivity, and you:

Working at Smartgroup, means you will be working in one of Australia's most authentic, inclusive, and diverse workplaces.

Team members enjoy many benefits and 'perks' that genuinely value them for who they are. You might appreciate some, or all, including:

  • 'MAD' days to Make a Difference to our community and environment
  • Birthday leave to celebrate you
  • A wellbeing fund to spend your way
  • Support for all parents with a progressive, gender-neutral parental leave policy: up to 20 weeks Paid Parental Leave, superannuation contributions and a Return-to-Work Bonus
  • Salary packaging and novated leasing benefits (of course!)
