About the opportunity
We are looking for a talented leader with proven ability to deliver Disability Employment Services across multiple states to the highest standard. The National Manager - DES will lead a team of experienced and highly dedicated DES practitioners and be responsible for all aspects of the DES program within Employment Plus. Reporting to the General Manager, the role requires you to balance achievement of short/medium term results and service enhancements alongside ongoing long-term development of the service, at all times prioritising a quality participant centric service which lives up to the missional objectives of The Salvation Army.
This position can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic and operational leadership to the DES program across multiple Employment Service Areas.
- Maintaining and further building on an excellent team culture - leading a cohesive team of Program Managers, Team Leaders, Performance Coach, Recruiters, PPS & Job Coaches to deliver an outstanding service to our stakeholders whilst building their own skills and career satisfaction.
- Collaborating with other Employment Plus, TSA and external stakeholders in a professional and effective manner.
- Ensuring outstanding service delivery as measured by participant feedback and DSS performance, quality and other data.
- Providing specialised policy advice and analysis in relation to DES specific issues, innovations, opportunities, etc.
- Contribute to business and strategic planning and prepare regular reports and analysis for the executive.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in a senior management, employment services role including a strong understanding of the DES program and related fields.
- Proven experience in managing high performing teams to deliver organisational and program objectives.
- Track record in successfully leading geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong relationship management and high-level influencing skills.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to express ideas, opinions, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Experience with tenders and leading teams through periods of significant change.
- High integrity and a commitment to contribute to helping The Salvation Army support those who access our services.
- Tertiary education in management, community services or employment services is desirable but not essential.
