Our culture celebrates diversity and prioritises wellbeing and belonging, ensuring our people can thrive.About The Role:The Network Engineer is a member of the Infrastructure Support team providing expert (Level 3) support for the institute's IT Infrastructure.The primary role of the position is managing the environment and to provide support services to resolve incidents/problems and action customer requests while operating within the ITIL Framework. The incumbent will monitor and be responsible for incidents/requests assigned to the team queue from the IT ServiceDesk. The incumbent will proactively monitor, support and be responsible for a range of equipment and network devices including:
- All of institutes switches and routers.
- Cisco Wireless (Meraki and Catalyst)
- OSPF and MPLS networks
- Bachelor's Degree in IT or similar field Cisco Certified Network Professional
- Hands on experience with Nexus and Catalyst 9K switches and wireless
- Demonstrated experience delivering on the following tasks:
- Proactively monitors network performance and capacity and forecasts activities to address Institute requirements so WAN and LAN capacity is never exceeded.
- Maintain the Cisco Catalyst Wifi network
- Maintain the DMZ network and ensure appropriate firewall rules are in place;
- Manage the Data centre network and top of rack networking
- Contributing in scoping and requirements gathering, implementing network projects as per institutes enhancement and uplifting initiatives
