Role:
Provide Optic Fibre design solutions for Customers by performing a range of Optic Fibre network design, in both the field and office environments, including but not limited to identifying and surveying fibre routes, consultation and negotiation with landowners and other stakeholders, data generation to enable preparation of basic or detailed CAD designs, plans, drawings, assisting with / contributing to material ordering, generation of Land Access & Activity Notices and associated tasks, on site liaison with Specialists and other interested parties.
Responsibilities:
- Working in the field, undertake route identification & site surveys to determine Optic Fibre network requirements in accordance with set standards.
- Using your optic fibre network construction knowledge, identify, GPS / peg optic fibre route establishing the most economical and buildable route, contributing to accurate cost estimates within delivery targets. This includes identification of all infrastructure surrounding or likely to intersect with OF route.
- Accurately and efficiently contribute to completion of detailed designs, cost estimates and feasibility studies, including the provision of material and necessary network re-arrangement requirements.
- Contribute to overall cost-effective solutions for network build, rearrangements, cutovers, and compliance with relevant land access legislation.
- Undertake positive engagement and consultation with property / utility owners & occupiers ensuring Land Access & Activity processes are followed to ensure least cost buildable route is designed.
Experience required:
- Strong experience working as a Network Field Engineer
- A good working knowledge of telecommunications network architecture, and optic fibre construction practices
- Ability to produce detailed reports utilising available IT systems.
- Demonstrated experience in a design or construction environment with an understanding of design and construction technical standards.
