Ridge View Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly organised Network Support Officer with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ridge View SC is a new and growing college which has Years 7 to 11 in 2023 and will grow to Years 7 to 12 in 2024. As part of a growing team, the successful applicant should have strong communication skills and be able to create positive, effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and external stakeholders.
In this role you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of information systems and Information Technology (IT) equipment. As the successful applicant you should possess the ability to work as part of a team, be proficient in communication with staff and external stakeholders, research to resolve issues before asking for assistance and apply logical thinking to solve IT related problems.
As a Network Support Officer, you would work under the direction of the ICT manager and be required to provide support at Ridge View SC and up to two (2) Primary Schools in the Baldivis area. Should the successful candidate desire to move beyond the advertised level, further training may be provided by the Manager of Technology and Communications.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Knowledge of network systems and platforms relevant to the operating environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to the operational maintenance of Information Technology networks.
- Organisational skills, including the ability to plan and implement data security procedures.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external clients.
- Practical experience in developing and implementing user-training procedures

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
