Cradle Coast NRM is the natural resource management (NRM) business unit of Cradle Coast Authority, based in Burnie. It is one of three natural resource management organisations in Tasmania (and 54 in Australia). The role of Cradle Coast NRM is to sustainably manage and protect natural resources, working with communities to ensure a healthy future for the region.
Our work is guided by our 2030 NRM Strategy for Cradle Coast Tasmania and incorporates biodiversity-themed action to protect and maintain the region’s high-value habitat for threatened species, important biodiversity areas and ecological communities.
We are currently recruiting for a Project Officer to lead the delivery of Cradle Coast NRM’s new Community Action for King Island Threatened Bird Recovery Project. This project will implement actions across King Island to protect two priority threatened species, the King Island Brown Thornbill and King Island Scrubtit, by improving the quality and extent of their habitat to connect remnant habitat patches with corridors across agricultural land.
The position is offered on a part-time (0.6 FTE) contract basis until June 2028, with a base salary range of $75-$80K per annum, pro-rata, dependent on the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and experience.
