About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Calvary North Adelaide team as an Oncology and Haematology Clinical Educator, as the department is expanding the services offered. It is a level 3 RN position permanent part-time at 0.5 FTE. Based at Calvary’s flagship hospital, Calvary North Adelaide, this position has the capability to enhance and further develop staff in the care of oncology inpatients and day oncology treatment.
In collaboration with the Learning and Development Manager and Consultant CHCSA, and the Clinical Managers of St Helens Ward and Kimberley House at Calvary North Adelaide the Clinical Educator - Oncology and Haematology will lead and further develop the skills for nurses in the delivery of a range of treatment for both oncology and haematology patients. The position also has a significant role in supporting graduate, post graduate and undergraduate oncology students. In addition the successful candidate will work collaboratively with the wider L&D team, to ensure that mandatory training and orientation for cancer nurses is contextualised to the roles and department and will be expected to deliver these components.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery of specialist education to support the staff in;
Kimberley House Day Oncology/Haematology
St Helen’s Acute Oncology Ward/Haematology
Planning and implementation of education programs to develop staff and build nursing capability
Simulation training including emergencies
Mandatory training and competency assessments for core skills in keeping with Calvary, NSQHS, and EVIQ.
Facilitating Graduate Oncology/Haematology program
What you bring
AHPRA Registered Nurse
Minimum 3 years post graduate clinical experience in Oncology/Haematology experience is highly desirable.
Post Graduate Qualification in Cancer Nursing (Highly desirable)
Evidence of leadership skills, with a positive attitude
Current Clinical Skills in Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy administration
Ability to deliver creative, innovative & flexible education within a dynamic and changing environment
Demonstrated high levels of communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent university education qualification or working towards
