The role:
Within the Agency Framework and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner - Care@Home will:
- Be responsible, within the defined scope of practice, for the development, provision and evaluation of clinical/community nursing care that ensures optimal patient/client/family and community outcomes.
- Draw upon their professional competencies to improve clinical service outcomes through effective research and quality improvement activities and will actively participate statewide and nationally in complex care research, publication and education.
- Be responsible as a leader, advisor and mentor for other senior nurses practicing in the field of acute respiratory illness, complex care management and virtual care.

Care@home brings together acute, community and primary care to provide safe and effective virtual health care for those with COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. The team is currently undertaking work to establish a chronic disease integrated care program, the Nurse Practitioner role will be integral to this program. The multidisciplinary team are located in Cambridge Park, along with the opportunity to undertake some work from home hours.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term, full time, shift-worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for approximately twelve (12) months.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary:
$139,948 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
Current Working with Children Registration
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:

- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
