About the roleThe Refresher Program is an opportunity for nurses and midwives who currently hold non-practicing registration in Victoria, as well as other nurses and midwives with full registration but needing recent clinical practice in health services. $10,000 scholarships are available to eligible participants to cover costs such as living expenses during the program.
The Grampians Health Refresher program will provide structured education and clinical exposure to update knowledge and skills and re-establish and enhance confidence to practice.
- Eligible participants will complete an 8-week program
- 2 weeks - 8 days of upskilling education through classroom teaching and clinical simulation
- 6 weeks – supernumerary, supervised ward experience. 3 days per week, over a range of days and shifts, allocated to a registered practitioner.
- Participants will have the option for placements in acute, aged, midwifery and mental health
- There will be two program intakes - May 2024 and June 2024
- Opportunities on all Grampians Health campuses
- Dedicated Clinical Support Nurse/Midwife
- Participants will be provided with CV preparation and interview skills training with the opportunity to apply for vacancies.

Qualifications and Experience
- Current registration with AHPRA as RN, EN or RM
- Previous nursing or midwifery experience (does not have to be recent)

All appointments are subject to a satisfactory police records check, immunisation clearance and Working with Children check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
