Tell me more...The Nurse Unit Manager - is responsible for the provision of high quality, evidence based, cost effective and culturally responsive nursing services delivered by the Theatre Complex, Chemotherapy and Renal Dialysis staff to the community of the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Advanced leadership skills that guide and foster teamwork in the multidisciplinary setting while enabling the delivery of high-quality patient focussed service and compliance with NSQHS Standards, ACORN Standards and infection prevention principles (evaluation and evidence of managing clinical care through audit findings, chart reviews, morbidity and mortality data, Riskman analysis and consumer feedback).
- Advanced negotiation and communication skills with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate culturally responsive patient focussed care.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in gathering, analysing and reporting information from a variety of sources, including the ability to produce clearly written documents and reports.

Requirements for the role:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and/or registration with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to commencement of clinical duties. Current registration with the Australian health Practice Registration Authority (APHRA) as a registered nurse and current practising certificate is mandatory.
- This position may require the incumbent to operate a patient retrieval vehicle (4WD) which requires a C Class Drivers Licence. An appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
