Job description

The Role: We have an opportunity for a level 1 or level 2 Occupational Therapist to work in a community setting, in either a part time role (Minimum of 0.6FTE) up to full time. In the role you will utilise your Occupational Therapist skills to provide clinical and therapeutic interventions that support positive health and wellbeing outcomes for customers.

You will bring knowledge of rehabilitation and restorative approaches and high levels of clinical competence, and provide supervision to staff and students. This role provides opportunity to work in a community setting, providing clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions across a broad range of individual and multiple complex conditions.

Duties:

  • Create innovative approaches that enhance the health and wellbeing outcomes of customers.
  • Maximise and enhance the independence of customers.
  • Assess and advise on cognitive function and engagement in daily living.
  • Provide advanced Occupational Therapy services such as home safety assessments, functional assessments, falls prevention, equipment prescription, home modifications and community engagement and access.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to support the health of customers holistically.
  • Supporting customers to maintain high levels of function.
  • Maintain accurate documentation/records.
  • Support the development and promotion of new services and products.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including family members, team members and support workers.
  • Support quality and continuous improvement to support achievement of business strategic goals.

About you:

  • Passion for enhancing the health and wellness of customers through holistic assessment and provision of evidence-based services.
  • Experience in aged care desirable- passion for working with older people essential.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Comprehensive interpersonal skills, with outstanding written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work autonomously and integrate into a multidisciplinary team.
  • Active approach to service and professional development.
  • Experience in providing supervision.
  • Degree in Occupational therapy with current registration with AHPRA.
  • Current drivers' licence.
  • A registered and insured motor vehicle with minimum third-party property damage insurance.

The successful candidate will need to provide a Covid19 vaccination statement (or willing to obtain)  and a satisfactory police clearance less than 12 months old before commencement.
