We are seeking an exceptional Occupational Therapist to join our allied health team and become an integral part of Novita’s vision. Working at Novita you will be contributing to the planning and provision of client and family-centered services. You will support our clients across the lifespan in key areas such as communication development, Alternative and Augmentative Communication and participation in mealtimes. Novita has Multiple positions across regions for new graduates as well as experienced Occupational Therapists.

Positions available:

  • Full-time position based in Novita's Christies Beach Therapy hub.
  • Full-time position/s based at Novita's Kadina Therapy hub
  • Experienced OT for Full time Senior OT position based at Kadina , managing regional location.

About the Role

Occupational Therapistis responsible for:

  • Managing clinical caseload involving the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the appropriate treatment/management program
  • Selecting, applying and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and their ability to meet goals and objectives in line with organisational practice standards
  • Encouraging client participation in program evaluation to ensure that services are relevant to the individual’s needs and goals.
  • Contributing to the development and provision of community-based programmes and activities for clients
  • Integrating occupational therapy services with other Novita services to support a multi-disciplinary approach and liaising with and engaging in decision making, client reviews, planning sessions, program conferences and other appropriate meetings.

Key Selection Criteria

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience in working in the disability sector, within an early intervention, paediatric or adult setting and working with autism spectrum disorder or clients with a physical disability diagnosis
  • Excellent written communication skills including the ability to prepare high quality written reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, parents and staff
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service skills
  • Integrity - honest in own behavior and in dealings with others
  • Energetic, resourceful, innovative and flexible in responding to challenges
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • A sound understanding of person-centered thinking, the principles of NDIS and the National Disability Services Standards.

Essential Requirements  

  • Valid driving licence and willingness to use own vehicle for travel 
  • NDIS worker screening, DHS Working with Children and Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain) 
  • Fully vaccinated from COVID-19 (Novita mandate). 

Remuneration Package and Benefits

Total remuneration package includes base salary, annual leave loading and statutory superannuation contribution. Enjoy salary packaging up to $15,900 of your salary, increasing your take-home pay by approximately $5,000. Further salary-packaging benefits available include meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire, private novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions.
